Tight chest, sore throat, swollen glands - what can I take?

Sorry - I'm sure there is an answer in this already on here, but I can't find it!

I've got a really tight chest, sore throat and swollen throat glands. Any idea what I can do. Paracetamol just doesn't cut it!

I dont this you can take much. try drinking hot squash and having a steamy bath to move congestion?

Has it jut come on or do you think it is a cold?

It's just come on overnight. I don't have a stuffy or runny nose or any other cold symptoms.

Please consider seeing your OOH service. I had chest infections when pregnant, and left it to get antibiotics. That was stupid and I was poorly for much longer than I should have been.

hot honey and lemon or vicks for chest unfortunately theres not much u can take unless prescribed by gp. i have a head cold at mo and feel miserable

I'm not getting much sleep, so am feeling worse.

Does anyone know what sort of medicine they'll give me? I've only had antibiotics once and they made me really sick (literally sick) - so I'm now scared of that! I'm 14weeks.

Sounds like it could be a chest infection to me. Some antibiotics make me feel ill but others don't. Just let the dr know the last ones made you ill, you can try different ones and usually taken with food won't make you feel so bad.

It could be viral though and you will have to ride it out
