Did your feet get bigger after pregnancy?

I've now heard a few people saying their feet permanently increased in size during/after pregnancy?

Am worried as I already have size 8 feet, if they get any bigger I'm screwed for ever wearing nice shoes again.

Please tell me giant feet aren't inevitable!

I've gone from a 5.5 to a wide 7. Sad

No, exactly the same.

Perhaps the answers here will be a bit biased, because many people might read the title, think "nope", and move on, whereas those who did get bigger feet might want to talk about it. That's my theory anyway Smile

I was a four before pregnancy- went up to a five after, then 4.5. EVENTUALLY back to a 4 after years! Now I'm preggers again so we'll see.
A few weeks ago I was in a shoe shop and there was a girl trying on shoes. She had her OH and a couple of kids with her. She threw the shoe across the room in disgust and said to her OH 'I'm NEVER having any more kids. If my feet get any bigger I'll have to start wearing yours!' Lol!

No my feet are freakishly small...2 or 3 depending on style. 6 babies later...!

bananastar · 12/01/2014 00:36

Mine grew while I.was pregnant, my uggs didn't fit any more but now 3 months later they fit fine again so I think it was probably swelling maybe!

madamginger · 12/01/2014 00:56

Yes my feet went from a 6 to a 7 with dc1 and a 7 to 7.5 with dc3. He is 3 now and my feet have gone back to a 7 over the last 6 months.
All my pretty size 6 shoes went to the charity shop and now I own fucking ballet pumps I miss my stilettos, sadly they are impossible to walk in post baby and a bit ridiculous for the school run.

Devora · 12/01/2014 01:08

Mine went up a size and also widened. But only at the front, and mainly on one side. I had lovely standard feet before; now shoe shopping is a bit of a nightmare.

JimmyCorkhill · 12/01/2014 01:52

Mine went down a size Grin everything else is fucked though!

Inkspellme · 12/01/2014 05:19

mine went up a size on pregnancy no 1 but came down again.

went up again on pregnancy no. 2 but didn't come down again....

Lj8893 · 12/01/2014 06:10

Mine grew in pregnancy, I could only wear super soft ballet flats or flip flops as they got so wide.
But they are back to normal now so think it was just swelling.

ClearlyMoo · 12/01/2014 06:48

No one tells me anything! No idea about feet growing!! Gah! Before pg I have odd sized feet.. Perhaps they'll even out. Ha ha ridiculous wishful thinking!

BikeRunSki · 12/01/2014 06:54

Yes. And I was an 8 to start withy. Not much longer but wider mainly. Buying shoes is a nightmare.

Gemdar · 12/01/2014 07:09

Yes went from 6 std to 6.5 wide after dc1 (had awful swelling from 16wks) after dc2 (no swelling) still a bit bigger but can finally can fit back into some of my old size 6 so glad I didn't chuck all of them but still can't wear some of the nicest :-(

On a positive tho I'm the only person I know that this has happened to of at least 20+ and I know one who's feet got smaller...

WeeTeaJenny · 12/01/2014 09:20

I'm fascinated by this - at what point in pregnancy / post pregnancy did they get bigger? I need to get some new trainers and I'm holding off for now in case my feet change - am wondering at point I can consider it 'safe' to hit the shops.
