Pain in Right side after fall yesterday.

I fell down a flight of stairs yesterday at about 3pm and hit my head and my right hand side and hip/knees. Head is fine, no concussion etc. but today I've had a pain in my right hand side which is niggling away. Hurts when I cough too.

I've had no bleeding and I'm currently 4+5. Should I go see someone (walk in center Or A&E) or is it too early to see anything? I've got a GP and booking in appointment with the nurse at 7+5. My side is sore anyway from where I fell but now the pain is more than I've had (general cramping)

Any advice/ opinions greatly appreciated!

The baby should be fine at that stage as it'll be protected by you. However, you might want to get yourself checked out. Can you get to the GP tomorrow, or out of hours GP tonight if you're in a lot of pain?

I had a fall at 14 weeks & had a crampy/ sore side for a while - I think I had strained my round ligaments.

The MW was very reassuring & said it was very difficult to hurt the baby by falling etc. At 5 weeks it would still be a tiny dot, tucked right between your hips so very well cushioned indeed!

But if in doubt, give your MW a call. I would be surprised if they will do anything practical but might set your mind at ease.

This early on your womb is still tucked away and very well protected. The GP/midwife won't be able to do anything about the pregnancy at this point - they can't scan you or anything.
