Yup. Wrapping presents at 4 this morning. Shattered but not sleepy until it's time to get up. Why???!

brettgirl2 · 23/12/2013 06:24

there really isn't anything you can do its just awful.

The worst part is when people say 'enjoy the sleep while you can' Hmm

womma · 23/12/2013 06:56

I'm like this too, and not in my third trimester yet. Rubbish isn't it?

beela · 23/12/2013 08:10

Or the people who say 'it's good practice for whey you have a newborn'. Not helpful!

Thisisfreakingmeout · 23/12/2013 08:32

People need to stop saying "get in sleep while you can" for 3 reasons. 1) I'm not sleeping. 2) there is no "sleep bank" if I were sleeping 3) I'm running out of places to hid the bodies when I decapitate them through prego rage.

sophs37 · 23/12/2013 09:10

im with u all in my 3rd trimester n not sleeping at all . Have to listen to my husband snore next to me its so annoying. xx

Bkk13 · 23/12/2013 09:14

God I had this, ending up seeing a homeopathic person which whether it was in my head or not worked. Stressful and irritating! Good luck all!

Fedup1992 · 28/12/2013 01:27

I'm now listening to DH snoring!! Wanna punch him! Haha

It's okay for him saying "don't get stressed out about it"

Wide awake all god damn night all I want to do is sleep and I can't no matter what I do!!

People say oooh u won't get none when baby is here.... Hello yes I bloody will least I can sleep when the baby sleeps right now I have no choice at all!!

Can't cope with this any longer. Turning into such a grumpy cow! Xxx

I feel your pain. I had a few sleep issues before pregnancy but after years finally discovered that David Attenborough documentaries at a low volume tended to send me off within an hour.

Things got better after that. But I'm coming up to my final trimester now and have suffered again since I was about 6 weeks pregnant.

If you're not immune to the soporific effects of Attenborough's voice, I'd certainly recommend you try it!

kaatieexox · 28/12/2013 02:13

I'm 35+2 with my first and currently having a break from glossing the door frames. Haven't been able to sleep properly during the night now for the past 6-7 weeks. Have a couple of hour naps during the day which probably doesn't help. You get more sleep once the baby is here, right? Hmm

kaatieexox · 28/12/2013 02:15

Fedup I feel your pain! DP is having a good old snore, can hear him from the other room Angry

CAnn88 · 28/12/2013 02:18

Another one here with pregnancy insomnia, it's rubbish! What with having to sleep sitting up as laying down is just too damn uncomfortable, propping my feet up on cushions to ease swelling, and obsessively reading mumsnet childbirth threads as I've just realised I'm going to have to do that in the next few weeks, I'm getting literally no sleep.

CAnn88 · 28/12/2013 02:20

Btw, does anyone have any advice for sleeping positions for when you're almost 39 weeks and f-ing massive?

kaatieexox · 28/12/2013 02:20

CAnn88 when are you due? Is it your first? The thought of labour is petrifying me! I need to woman man up!

kaatieexox · 28/12/2013 02:21

OOPS. Sorry i posted that before i seen yours! I have started to sleep with a thin pillow between my thighs and just under my bump, that helps slightly for me.

CAnn88 · 28/12/2013 02:29

Kaatiee I'm due 6th of jan and this is my first, what about you?. I thought I was uncomfortable at 36 weeks and was sleeping with 2 pillows between my legs, 1 under bump and 1 behind back, but for the last week I haven't actually managed to lay down once, which I'm pretty sure is screwing with me physiologically! Also terrified of labour, I've been so busy worrying about everything else that it's only just occurred to me that I'll be doing that soon.

kaatieexox · 28/12/2013 02:34

Same, and I am due on the 29th of Jan. We bought a house earlier this year and my DP and his dad have been working non stop to get it done. Knocking walls down ect ect... It has gone so fast and there's only 4 weeks left to finish everything! Arrr. I can lie down but it takes me a couple of minutes to get back up, lol. Not long left though, think positive and all that lark! Hope you get some sleep soon Smile

Fedup1992 · 28/12/2013 03:36

I could sleep for England I'd go to bed at ten, wake up with Dh in the morning then when he went to work have a clean and an afternoon nap then bed at bedtime again

Now I'm getting about 4 hours sleep in 2 days. Feeling like a junkie then gettin a good sleep then the same thing happens! Got another six weeks left I can't cope. Hope it comes early.

I have just took all the Xmas decorations down (house back to normal yey as much as I love xmas) and bleached the full bathroom. Oh and packed the baby's hospital bag.

Xxxxxx

I'm still on my front pillows under my leg around my back, and a cold one under my head,

I've been finding it comfy propped up on my back too actually think I've woke up a few times like that

Just dozed off for an hour on the sofa with the cat on my lap. Gonna crawl into bed now and give my dp a few elbows in the back to shut him up snoring! Might get a few hours then get up and go B&Q. Oh the joys! Good luck and hope baby comes soon x

Fedup1992 · 28/12/2013 04:36

Hope yours does too good luck!!!

I'm still awake I want to scream

I'm only 21 weeks and already have big periods of awakeness (1.5hrs and counting) nothing stirs DH at this point in the night. He reckons baby won't either - argh, now there's a thought! Need for loo woke me, perhaps another trip will help, but I can't be bothered. Know I won't sleep if I don't. My cousin that's the same age as me (34) and lives the life of a slightly irresponsible it/party girl texted me yesterday asking how I was, I said "healthy but tired", her response was "part and parcel of being pregmant", what does she know she's a night owl who has a lot if hangovers and barely gets up before 10 even on a work day. Actually can't believe how much her comment has wound me up even if it is true. I'd just like a big normal sleep

ClearlyMoo · 28/12/2013 09:27

I was still awake when Dh's alarm went off at 6am. I was ragged and in tears. Bless him he cuddles me til I fell asleep then I got another 3hrs, bringing last nights total a little shy of 7hrs. Acceptable and survivable! Wished I had woken him in the night to try and help me get back to sleep but he works so hard as was sleeping so heavily! Feeling very blessed to have a lovely hubster!

TobyLerone · 28/12/2013 09:32

I've been up since 4.30am. Crap, isn't it?

Fedup1992 · 28/12/2013 16:28

Aww that's lovley. Mine gets up and won't stay in bed!

I managed to fall asleep at 5 and slept till 2 this afternoon. I'm so grumpy today it's untrue xxxx

3rd trimester here too & my insomnia was driving me mad. I have found that sex helps Smile. Whilst i dont feel particularly attractive, DH seems more than happy to oblige.
