This is a bit strange but I'm 18 weeks and haven't had sex in pgcy this time until Friday that is, when I let DH of his lead!!

I have had the most painful, uncomfortable, achy boobs since and they have been leaking profusely!!! Is this normal? Does sex really have that sort of effect??

don't know about this, but just wanted to say, poor you Quackers, doesn't sound like you'll be doing that again in a hurry!

lol Quackers! My DH has been badgering me for some nookie all weekend.... and he isn't normally that bothered! I'll tell him this and it'll put him off.

On a serious note, could it possibly just be coincidence that it happened after sex? Are you not around the right stage to be producing colostrum? Apart from that..... I've no suggestions.

Hi Quackers, it's entirely possible that you're just leaking 'anyway' (I did through most of last pregnancy!) but sex also stimulates the let-down reflex. The same hormone that causes the womb to contract, and so on to orgasm, also causes the milk ducts to do the same. It works the other way too - that's why a lot of nipple stimulation can bring on labour later on, and why some midwifes think that breastfeeding is the most effective way of helping to expell the placenta. Maybe it's a possiblity that nipple stimulation during sex could kick start the production of colostrum (seeing as you're body's getting prepared for it anyway? Just a thought )

Hi , have to agree I think as it's settled down since, still there but just like before, so there be some hormonal trigger! Won't be doing that again in hurry though if it does that!! DH is delighted he can do something like that!
