possible UTI, midwife appointment?

I have my midwife booking in appointment and first scan tomorrow (Saturday afternoon). I've never had a UTI before, so really not sure if my symptoms are a possible UTI or just pregnancy related discomfort. Does anyone know whether the midwife will test for UTIs and prescribe antibiotics if I need them, or should I be trying to get a GP appointment?

Thanks in advance. I am supposed to be going away on Sunday for Christmas, so can't wait till after the midwife to book an appointment without disrupting family Christmas plans (and telling distant great aunts that I am off to an emergency appointment with their local GP to treat my UTI is not the way I planned to announce the pregnancy!). It only occurred to me that it might be a UTI as I was thinking of my concerns to mention to the midwife tomorrow!

Get a GP appointment today just in case. Midwife will test your urine but may not be able to prescribe anything. Hope it's all clear!

Better to see GP who can prescribe you antibiotics. Phone them now and ask for an appointment today.

They will usually get a doctor to write you one which you can collect. After my last appointment my urine was sent off and it detected thrush, a short time later I received a prescription in the post.

If you don't want to wait, it may be better to book an app directly with the GP.
