Sure that this has been asked before, but has anyone got a good list for an ELCS hospital bag. DS was born 'naturally' and I remember taking loads of gear in that was barely used. Any lists appreciated!

Expect to stay 1-2 nights minimum.
Essentials were slippers, dressing gown, toiletry bag,big knickers that will go over and not touch the scar, lots of maternity pads, phone charger, something to do/read whilst waiting to be called, bottles of water to have on bedside afterwards unless you like hospital water, plenty of new baby clothes, dried figs to get bowels going again, outfit to wear home with a high waistband.I found Primark loungewear PJ bottoms in a bigger size were perfect, with a loose wrap cardigan.

I asked this a few weeks ago and got some great responses. Here is a link if you want a nosey. I am booked in for a CS on 31 Dec.

Peppermint tea. The wind you get afterwards is AWFUL. Slip on shoes so you don't have to bend over. Plus the stuff superzero said. Primark full briefs in a size bigger than you'd usually take are perfect, ditto any cheap loungewear trousers.

Take some ear plugs, as it can be terribly noisy on the wards at night and you'll need the rest!

Also take some dried fruit, in particular prunes as they help with the difficult digestion situation after a section. Also good for snacking in between meals.

A book or magazine?

Big knickers definitely! Comfy going home clothes (for you) with sensible slip on shoes, I wore my slippers home after my third as I had stupidly worn boots to the hospital and not packed any other shoes!

Big cushion to hold against your tummy when in the car home! I also had peppermint capsules rather than peppermint tea. Don't take valuables in case they get pinched.

For both my previous CS's I took face cleanser, toner and cotton wool for when I still had catheter in and couldn't get up for a wash. It made me feel fresher and a bit more human. For my 3rd CS in jan I've planned a lovely going home outfit and left it in baby's car seat for DH to bring and I'll be leaving wearing make up as I'd like to look less bad than I have before. With each CS I get vainer it seems!
