Christmas Jumpers

Apparently the wearing of Christmas jumpers will be compulsory for our family on Christmas Day. MIL has taken it upon herself to buy them but informed me I won't have one as she couldn't find one to fit, even the men's ones were too small. I'm 25 weeks with a good sized bump so I don't mind this. However, she has managed to find one for my 17 stone, 6'1" DH. Is he going to be sporting a skin tight jumper or should I be worried about how big MIL thinks I am?

Charming!! Can't she knit you one?!!

Sammi1986 · 17/12/2013 23:38

How rude! Some people have no idea what to say to us ladies. Just had a birthday and alas my sister bought me a onsie in a size 32.... I know I'm a big girl but really....
New look do maternity Christmas jumpers (we are having the same compulsory theme :/ )

She offered to come swimming with me and DS1 over Christmas but I'm worried when she sees me in a swimsuit she'll call Greenpeace to get me back into the ocean!

Drown her :)

How rude. I'm 24wks with good sized bump and my jumper is just medium size from primark if you want to buy one.

cravingcake · 18/12/2013 06:35

Could you buck the trend and wear Christmas leggings instead? I got some from Primark in size 16 (normally a 12) and they come up high and almost over bump. Very very comfy. I'm 34 weeks, have a massive bump (43 inch's around currenty) and wearing them to a christmas party on Saturday.

What a cow your MIL is though.

LastOneDancing · 18/12/2013 07:27

What?!
Giving her the benefit of the doubt that shes not just an insensitive cow, maybe she meant she couldn't find any maternity Christmas jumpers?

I saw one in asda menswear with a big Christmas pudding on the tummy... Wish I'd bought it Smile

I think new look do a maternity one

Noodles123 · 18/12/2013 10:38

New look do maternity ones? Pretty generous sizes, and they aren't too pricey - maybe buy your own to make a point?! I am 37w gone now and even a normal medium size is fine so unless you are the size of a house there will loads that will fit!

Beccadugs · 18/12/2013 10:43

How ridiculous. I'm 29 weeks and quite round, my normal hoodies still just about fit.

I have primary men's Christmas jumper just in a size that fitted.

LouisaJF · 18/12/2013 16:38

To her credit, I don't have a small bump, but she was aiming to buy me a men's one and claimed there were none big enough.

Thanks for the ideas, I might have to brave the shops at the weekend.

Sainsburys have a big selection of Xmas jumpers in a wide selection of sizes,I got one in a 20 (was a 16/18 pre bump) at 35 weeks but to be honest it's on the big side and an 18 would have done

ZenNudist · 19/12/2013 01:24

order online next day delivery?

Can be worn more than just on Christmas Day. I wore mine to work (black leggings & flat boots) & one of the younger team members commented on my 'Christmas jumper'

pinkglitter80 · 19/12/2013 07:33

for new look maternity you may need to order online unless you live near a massive shop
