I've got a 34 week ante natel appointment tomorrow morning but ds has already finished school & my neighbour who had offered to babysit has just let me down. Ds is 8 & has a diagnosis of ASD & ADHD. He absolutely hates my Dr's surgery- sends him mental so its not an option to bring him.

I saw the midwife at 28, 30 & 32 weeks due to some issues with blood tests as I have an under active thyroid so im not concerned. But she did say the 34 week appointment would be longer as she would discuss birth options.

This baby is breech. If she stays breech I will have a cs. If she turns I will be having the baby at home. There's nothing to discuss really. She knows I intend on having this baby at home.

What happened at your 34 week appointment? I don't remember this in previous pregnancies. If I don't go tomorrow my next appointment isn't until I'm 37 weeks due to Christmas & New Year...

My 34 wk apr involved blood pressure, measuring fundal height and listening to heartbeat. I hadnt been seen since 28 weeks and won't be seen again until 38 but sounds like yours are much more regular. I'm in Scotland...

If you call your midwife and explain she may well have time to just come and see you at home.

I've only been seen that often as my thyroid isn't being controlled very well. I should have had an appointment at 28 weeks & then 34 as this is my 6th baby.

I don't have childcare for ds that's why im not going tomorrow. Ds hates stranger's coming in the house & im working so its really not convenient this week.

Im more concerned about missing something that should be arranged then the mechanics of the appointment... IYSWIM-eg home birth team. That type of thing.

Blood pressure
Wee test
Measured my bump
Listened to baby's heartbeat
Tried to guess position of baby - thought baby may be breach but said they like to wait until 36 weeks before they refer on about this, as babies can still move around at this point.

No blood test as there wasn't time, but everything has been ok so far.

I'm also not being seen until 37 weeks due to xmas, but midwife did offer to come out and see me at home on xmas eve if I wanted - but I declined Grin

I would definitely ring your midwife and request a home visit given your circumstances.

Had mine last week, it was about 40 mins. All the normal checks and lots of questions. Feeding, caring and birth plan etc.

I was asked not to bring my DD.

I never had this with previous pregnancies.

Mw can only fit me in Christmas Eve afternoon. Im not home Christmas Eve. Its all messed up. Now im struggling to get someone on 6/1 to look after ds as I have a consultants appointment.

So annoying!
