Doctor could feel baby's head through (?) cervix at 31+5 - has it engaged?

At a routine check-up today, my doctor gave me an internal exam (as always). She said she could feel the baby's head was right there at the top of my cervix. Does this mean the baby is engaged? I'm in Germany and they don't seem to use terms like 3/5 engaged. Baby's head definitely wasn't there two weeks ago, because she said it was still transverse last time.

The exam really hurt (much more than just the uncomfortable feeling like usual). Did she actually put her fingers up through the cervix and touch the baby's head? Or could she feel it from the outside?

(I'm aware I should have asked her these questions at the time, but I didn't for some reason.)

This is DC2 by the way.
