I'm still in shock. I've had 3 miscarriages and 3 ectopics and during November completed my first ivf cycle. I had a 3 day transfer of 2 eggs and got a faint bfp 9 days later. I then had a blood test at 13 days which was 348 and at 15 days which was 767.

On Friday I went for my first scan at 6+5 and was told I'm carrying 3. Two are identical and measured 6+3 and 6+4 and the single one measured 6+1. All had heartbeats but they couldn't tell me the heart rates.

Has anyone got any advice or experience of carrying 3?

Congratulations!
Try posting in 'multiple births' for advice?

neversleepagain · 17/12/2013 09:21

Congratulations! My cousin had identical twins and a singleton ie: triplets last year. She also had a double embryo transfer and one split which is apparently common(ish) with IVF. She has 2 boys and a girl who are now nearly 1. She had a trouble free pregnancy (although couldn't work from 23 weeks) and the babies were born at 32 weeks by EMCS.

I have twins and that is enough for me Grin

Congratulations! No advice on multiple births here, but mumsnet is a big place and someone will be along soon. Fingers and toes tightly crossed for a trouble-free pregnancy and an easy birth.:-)

Congratulations!

My best friend has triplets - 2 boys, 1 girl, all singletons. The pregnancy went well and they are now 7 months and healthy. They did have to spend several months in SCBU as they were born at 29 weeks, by EMCS, after her waters broke, but none of them now show any long-term signs of delays etc. and the 2 boys are actually ahead on various developmental targets by actual age and not even adjusted age Smile

Congratulations!!

A very good friend of mine had triplets 17 years ago. She was very organised & has routines to keep everything under control!

Good luck!!

Wow - what a lovely surprise!

When I went to see my bestie's twins in NICU (they were also an IVF embryo that split) there were twins in the next cots. The mum was trying to feed them all and it was definitely a full time job!

FreeButtonBee · 17/12/2013 13:16

Congratulations. I have 10 mo twins and they are hard work but totally adorable.

My number one tip is to find your local twins club and join it early. They will also have triplet mums and will be able to find you a buddy. Also v v v useful for second hand clothes, toys, buggies etc. and mine is great for asking advice etc. it has a v active Facebook group.

Good luck!

I forgot to mention, my friend was able to rent a triple buggy from a local multiples association, which was a huge cost savings for them. She also met another triplet mum, who has been a big help in showing her how to organise her home and get them into a routine etc.
