Hello, I am 39 years old and 32weeks prehnant and have decided for an Elective c-section for no medical reasons. Very soon I have an app with a cons midwife. Does anyone have such an experience? How will I convince her?
Thanks!

What are your reasons for wanting an ELCS?

Try convincing us first- it will be good practice!

Hi Op. I am a first time mum to be and I am having an ELCS (no medical reason). My ELCS has been agreed and is booked in for 31/12/2013. Unless you are completely prepared for the appointment it is likely their initial position will be to refuse your request. It very mush depends on the hospitals birthing policy it most have a standard stance that they do not do maternal request CS.

I started a thread on this sometime ago. Have a nosy if you like. There is a lot of information on there regarding what you need to do to prepare for your appointment and also other women's experiences of trying to get an ELCS. There are also views from women that are for and against ELCS as well as positive and negative experiences. Howver the I formation on there may help you prepare for your appointment.

Good luck and I hope you get your request approved.
