Had my scan yesterday and found out I'm having twins oOoOoOoO it explains a lot. I was too shocked to ask any questions of any use. My due date from the report is now nearly week earlier which makes me 13 +4 today. What happens next??? I vaguely remember her mentioning a twin clinic.

Congratulations. I have twin girls who are nearly 13. It was hard work when they were babies/toddlers but lots of fun. They're very close and great company for one another.

Doppledanger · 13/12/2013 08:50

Ohhh congratulations, I've got twin too.....twins are great and don't let anyone tel you different.

darkdays · 13/12/2013 08:50

Congratulations! Twins are hard work but such a blessing, so rewarding. You will be more closely monitored in your pregnancy past twenty weeks. Scans every two or four weeks depending on wether they are identical or fraternal.

TheNightIsDark · 13/12/2013 08:51

Congrats! Are they identical? I'm really rather jealous.

HorizontalRunningOnly · 13/12/2013 08:55

AryaofhouseSnark · 13/12/2013 09:04

Congratulations, my twins are 3 Smile
You should have more scans and appointments than a singleton pregnancy. Even more if your having identical twins.
Good luck.

slightlyinsane · 13/12/2013 09:28

Still very shocked. Not my first we have 3 already eeeeek

Forgot to add, she thinks she saw a very faint sac membrane around one of them but I'm not convinced

Congratulations :)

My twin girls are 14 months old (DCDA twins). You should see a consultant every 2-4 weeks depending on what type of twins you have. I was scanned fortnightly from 20 weeks and saw a consultant and hospital midwife after each scan. I also saw my surgery midwife every 4 weeks too so I was basically seen every two weeks. I was scanned weekly from 32 weeks.

neversleepagain · 13/12/2013 09:37

Oh and your due date will go out the window. My due date was 5/11 and they were born on 29/09.

silverangel · 13/12/2013 12:18

Congratulations! Did they tell you what type of twins they are? It's really important, if they are MC/DA or Mo-Mo you will need to be seen much more often. I was transferred from local hospital to local FMC as mine were MC/DA.

Join TAMBA, there is a wealth of info there.

Good luck!
