Hi Ladies, I've just found out I'm pregnant! Super excited and a little scared/shocked. I'm in a funny situation as I'm from the UK but travelling around Australia atm! Although baby wasn't planned its very wanted and was on the cards for the near future! So I've bought myself a pregnancy book- The Pregnancy Bible and I'm on the folic acid and vitamin d. Also went to see GP yesterday for bloods and urine confirmation. Now I'm not sure what comes next?!
I'd quite like a health shopping list for pregnant ladies on a budget if anyone has one?
Any tips would be useful on anything! I think know what foods to avoid and I'm not a smoker. I'm off the alcohol :( They tell me it will be worth it lol And I'm carrying on with my swimming!
I've already started looking at baby names and nursery ideas but that's just the geek in me! lol
And I'd like to start a scrap book/phot diary of my bump.
Told close friends and family but not public yet- trying to wait until 12 weeks, at around 13 weeks I plan to fly home.
Partners been great so lucky there :)
This sounds a bit like a blog but I guess I just want to share my news and check I'm on the right track but would also love any sort of advice on anything really!

Nice to meet you all :)

Congratulations!! And being in aus that's even better. I was six weeks when I found out. Wasn't in a relationship with the babies dad but all is great now and only 8 weeks left.

I'd say just keep up on the water. I didn't stick to taking all my tablets because I felt a bit sick. And I didn't eat much I went right off food too but aslong as you keep trying and keep your fluids up.

And now just wait till you get home. And get yourself booked in for your first scan :). Xxxx

Congratulations!!
I am a first timer and am now 36 weeks. You are doing all the right things.
Take pregnancy vitamins, eat healthily in general (if you can still eat) and lots of fluids.
I had nausea from 7 - 16 weeks so lived off whatever didn't make me feel ill (cue lots of salt and vinegar crisps and other unhealthy things). You might hit a wall of tiredness but that is normal. I didn't feel myself until 16 weeks and it was like a cloud lifted.
Make sure you have flight socks and keep moving on the long journey home as pregnancy makes you more prone to DVT. If you feel shocking let the flight attendants know and they will look after you.
Once you get back, call your gp as they can tell you how to sort a midwife (some you have to sort yourself its all area dependent)
Then the midwife can go through everything with you (what happens and when) and you can have your scan etc.
I waited to tell most people until after my scan as its the first point i could be really sure that something was in there (i found it all a bit surreal until i saw it on screen)
Get used to peeing in a lot of pots!
Hope you have a healthy and happy pregnancy.

One important Xmas Wink thing to do is go over to MN Antenatal Clubs section and join the chat thread for those with a similar due date to yours.
