extremely itchy sore eyelids - advice?

feel like I've rubbed my parents cat through my eyes only I've been nowhere near it. The eyelids are hot and itchy and pink. eyes also bloodshot. been sore for several days now. blinking feels like the eyelashes are razorblades scratching my eyeballs. is this a normal pregnancy thing? I'm not allergic to anything I know of apart from the cat if I'm near it for too long & as I don't live with any pets I don't know what's causing it. I haven't changed any skincare or makeup either. any suggestions welcome, thanks

Sounds like you have blepharitis. It's a mild infection of the eyelids and in some cases the ducts on the eyelid margin get blocked, creating a lot of discomfort. First thing to do to treat is get a warm compress and hold over the lids for a few mins. The do some cleaning of the eyelid margin with some cooled boiled water in an egg cup with either a dribble of baby shampoo or a pinch of salt. Wipe from the nose out to your temples. If you don't want to make a homemade solution then you can buy proper solution from boots that's called blephasol. But any concerns I would see an opt
