I went to a walk in centre and they rang another department and were told they could do nothing until I have my first scan. It hasn't really gave me peace of mind because I don't know if this is normal or nothing to worry about?

This is very normal. Try and keep your sugar levels up and not stand up for too long. Also try and get your blood pressure checked. I have fainted with all my pregnancies at around 11weeks. Try not to worry.

Yeah, completely normal. Has happened to me a lot during pregnancy. Don't stay on your feet too long without a rest. Keep a snack with you (biscuits, nuts, dried fruit) and if you feel yourself becoming lightheaded, sit down, have a drink of water and snack. Stand up again slowly.

Thanks both of you have made me loads calmer :) the person I seen didn't say it was normal to happen just that they couldn't do anything. Happens everytime I've had any issues with the pregnancy since the beginning and I'm relying heavily on the Internet

I fainted today too, I'm 7+5 ... Went incredibly light headed, collapsed in a heap and the vomited, lush!! I've got naturally low blood pressure and cos I'm not eating much due to ms my body just couldn't cope standing up!!

Barbsta · 11/12/2013 21:47

My blood pressure is fine but I hadn't had a decent meal and was food shopping so on my feet. I was devastated because I was starving and just bought chips and dropped them when I fainted :( almost cried just because I dropped my chips lol. Did any of you's get ringing in your ears? I went completely deaf for about for about 10 seconds and then got ringing in my ears. It was a few hours after I fainted

Ms is hard enough I've luckily only been sick once but have almost constant nausea for over a month :( I was naive enough to think you just felt sick now and then. I've been working over 45 hours a week and trying to do everything I normally would and it's impossible. Felt like a big drama queen and like I was just being lazy but today has shocked me and I need to put my baby first

Ha me too, I thought you were just a bit sick and got to eat loads, how wrong we were! I struggled through work last week doing similar 45 hours as a teacher but vomited in school on Monday so went home, I've had a rough few days but feel better today. Doctor gave me meds and signed me off for a week but I think the meds contributed to my episode of fainting yesterday and made me really drowsy and dizzy, so I've stopped taking them!

Feel much better today and thank god for toast and 'salt and shake' crisps! O and lucozade!

Definately put yourself and baby first, I was guilty at first about work but when I was off before with appendicitis I was told that I'm not indispensable and life would go on regardless so I just say f**k em!

Barbsta · 12/12/2013 23:11

It's funny you mention shake nd salt crisps because I haven't are them since I was a kid but found myself drooling over them. I had them in the shopping trolly I had to leave in asda when I fainted and still haven't had some :(

I fainted when i was about 3 months pregnant,

It was at the check out at m&s! I came round to the cashier holding me up shouting for help!

I got my shopping for free!

Barbsta · 12/12/2013 23:30

I'd went in the cafe for a drink and chips because I wasn't feeling great and I fainted and dropped my chips just as I got to the table. They didn't even replace the chips tut lol next time il faint in m&s :D
