Hi

My wife and I are expecting and I wanted to know from people 'in the know' what ideas would be good for Xmas present.

Some context:
3 months pregnant
Ideally I'd like a mix of presents for her and for the baby (it will be our first and we are very excited)
Some jokey presents would be good as well as serious
Any amount of spend for ideas is ok.

Another question unrelated whilst I'm here.
If you were pregnant again for the first time with 6 months to go what would you do in that time before the baby for yourself..ie holidays etc would be good to know so we don't kick ourselves later

Thanks in advance

Vouchers towards / your choice of nice maternity clothes?

There is nothing nicer than someone looking after your feet when pregnant so a pedicure?

Thanks both, some great ideas.

This might not be the type of thing you're thinking but I've done a hamper of really nice soft drinks (I went to Waitrose and went a bit crazy) for my pregnant friend.

Being pregnant at Christmas can be a bit of a nightmare if you're fond of a tipple or two!

Waitrose 1% cider is REALLY nice and hits the spot when you're craving such things.

Get her some treats from this range - some lovely stuff!

Oh, and congratulations! Smile

Vouchers for a pregnancy massage!

Go on a baby moon somewhere that isn't child friendly, we went to Lisbon and I loved it. Go to the theatre, see movies and concerts. Spontaneity goes out the window for a while when baby arrives.

An iPad is a great gift if she doesn't have one already. Load with books, apps and movies for when she's enormous, in labour or home nursing and pinned to a chair for hours.
I wish I'd known about the cook shops when I was pregnant/with newborn so that might be useful.

Lovely maternity clothes, try Isabella Oliver or seraphine for special things or asos maternity/h and m for casual stuff.

If you really want to make a gesture you could get her an eternity ring. Size her finger now before they swell.

i second pregnancy massage. I had one for my 30th when i was about 6 months with dd. It was heaven, and because your bump is sort of suspended in mid air dd loved it too, she was doing huge spins and it was wonderful.

yes to nice non alcoholic drinks too. Specially as its Christmas, maybe knock her up some virgin cocktails so they're a bit special.

Things that I would have liked for presents for baby, looking back, are the "impractical" things that I couldn't justify buying, as we have to be careful with money. Like those horrid cot mobiles, and play mats, bouncy chairs, lovely wind up music boxes etc. But those impractical things can turn out to be a life saver as they provide baby distraction that means I can get a cup of tea and some breakfast.

Presents for mummy are anything that isn't related to pregnancy or babies, as that was all you got after people knew baby was coming.

And I wish I had gone on holiday with my partner before baby.
