What do you class as essentials for newborns?

A fried of mine asked me this today - so i thought i'd ask what you considered to be essentil.

baby slings are great, even use mine around the house when ds of 5 weeks won't setle. Ive got the baby bjorn one, really comfy, ooh and copious amounts of gin!!

Muslin squares, their usefullness knows no bounds! DD is three and sometimes still cuddles up to one at night!
A Dummy!!! (controversial in some houses...!)
