Weird abdo pain - can anyone tell me what this is?

I'm 14 weeks tomorrow, and over the last week (ish) I've been getting really weird abdo pains. They just come on for a short time and I can be doing pretty much anything (lying on my tummy in bed, going to the loo - sorry!, just after eating, etc) when they start, and thankfully they don't last long. It's like a burning pain, but feels like it's just under the skin; like someone's grabbed whatever's there and is pulling is as hard as they can until it starts to crack. Not very comfortable Sad. My DP's first thought was that it's my skin stretching, but if that's what it is, why does it only happen at certain times and not, for example, when I'm exercising and might actually be working my tummy? And am I not too early for that? I've only got the tiniest of bumps and wasn't expecting to be doing any skin-stretching for some time yet Hmm....

Where are they? More precisely?

round ligament pain? Might be your uterus stretching.

Julietee: Higher than I would expect for my uterus Confused : kinda roundabout my belly button and a little higher I think.

Delphi : I thought round ligament pain was the kind of 'twang' I feel across my lower abdomen between my hip bones when I sneeze suddenly, for example? Could be wrong there - haven't read up much on it!

Pregnancy is a time of weird feelings, but if you're worried you should ask someone more qualified than us :)
