Evening all. Been having bh for weeks and weeks, last night they ramped up to feel like full contractions (this is dc2) so.ate some weetabix had a brew and bounced on gym ball for a few hours while the house slept Smile
Pains on and off all day today, nothing to take my breath away though.
Been to the loo, sorry TMI, and the jelly mucous plug has come away (was on panty liner).
Been frantically googling and the answers vary from imminent labour to weeks left to go....
Curious about other people's plug stories, how long from plug to baby?! Grin TIA

No experience but have you called your midwife?

lovelilies · 09/12/2013 21:03

No... DP is a Dr and doesn't think it's necessary... I will call labour ward if things seem to be hotting up. Quite settled atm, backache but had that all the way through!

No experience but things I have read have said it can be very close from plug to baby!

How are you this morning??

lovelilies · 10/12/2013 12:41

Contractions irregular and pretty infrequent, still bits of plug/ very thick discharge though. No blood streaks. I read somewhere that it can replace itself until it's time for baby to come Hmm
Soo, it's a case of watch and wait Brew

Hi Lilies,

With DC3 my 'plug' went at 36 weeks!

I was then sort of stop-start for a fortnight before he was finally born on the day I was 38 weeks. Hope this helps!

I'm sure there was a thread about the time between 'show' and labour starting a couple of weeks ago, but it wasn't very long when I saw it and can't seem to find it now...

Hi, 3 days from mucus plug to birth of my first ds at 38 weeks. Good luck x

Lj8893 · 10/12/2013 23:34

I lost my mucus plug (no blood) at about 37 weeks.

I then had a bloody show at 40+1 and dd was born 7 hours later!

Hi Lovely, How is it all progressing? With DS1 it was 2 hours from losing plug to labour starting. With DS2 it was 3 weeks - so I guess the range is MASSIVE. Good luck!
