I'm 23 weeks & I can't stop cleaning and tidying & throwing crap away. Yesterday I painted the bathroom and music magpied all the crappy CDs. Today I'm supposed to be working from home but the untidy bookcase and fluff in our bedroom has distracted me and I'm craving a trip to the tip.

Its very out of character & I feel a bit manic Grin Anyone know how long this energy boost might last so I can make the most of it?!

enjoy while it lasts! i'm starting to find this sort of sorting etc quite physically tiring now (nearly 36 weeks) but the urge is still there. if you've got the energy, go for it now!

pumpkinsweetie · 09/12/2013 14:04

I'm 36 weeks and been manic too, not that you can tell this afternoon! The house is a tip due to me having a vomiting bugConfused

Oh no Pumpkin, sorry to hear that. Bugger the tidying if you're rough!

Ok Quack - with your permission I shall continue to ignore the bing bong of emails in favour of colour coding my book shelf... Blush

I'm 40 + 3 and yesterday after Hoover-polishing ( my newest way to minimize dust) and bleaching the whole house for about the 10th time this week, I spent about an hour cleaning the Hoover itself...its been like this since about 34 weeks Grin

I'm usually a slob of Red Dwarfian Lister proportions so def out of character. DP thinks ive gone mental!

Hoping it tones down a bit when my little man gets here!

Good luck with yours and happy cleaning! Grin

My best friend is the bucket of bleach tub of Shake and vac even hired a carpet cleaner and did it twice in one day!! Obsessed is not the word !! Xxx

God I hope the cleaning urge comes when I start my maternity leave....too tired at the moment got a case of serious case of CBA when it comes to housework. I'd rather be on my lardy behind on the sofa with my feet up eating chocolate biscuits!

mrsmugoo · 13/12/2013 11:42

If I actually get any "mat leave" (im self emplyed/run a small business) before the baby comes I may fit in some extra cleaning. Right now I'm too tired for anything. I'm 27 weeks.

I wish this had happened to me! 40+1 today and still no cleaning urges... My nesting seems to revolve around buying baby clothes on eBay and washing.

everythinghippie29 · 13/12/2013 11:46

Ahh I LOVED washing and drying all the baby clothes. I dread to think how much time I spent stood sniffing freshly washed onesies! Grin

My enthusiasm for cleaning has waned at 41 weeks but still LOVE the smell of bleach. Hmm

BlackholesAndRevelations · 13/12/2013 12:29

It's just kicked in for me at 39 weeks today!! Eek. You can't tell though judging by the state of my house! I blame the resident 2 and 3 year olds Grin

curlywurlyllass · 13/12/2013 14:17

Im 35+2, stuck in hospital till birth (getting induced on 15th dec) with no release for my nesting urges :(

So i swapped the chair and wee belongings cupboard around the opposite sides of my bed :P
Im such a rebel!
