I am 39wks tom, baby no.3.

I am getting horrible shooting stabby pains in my vagina sort of upwards really hurts my bladder and makes me feel like I will pee myself. Or that the baby is going to fall out.

What fresh hell is this?

Dont remember this in previous pregnancies.

Had some back pain a few days ago.

I can feel his hands sort of under my hip bones and my belly is hanging at my knees!

So glad it's not just me. Grin

I asked my DSIS who is a midwife her response was "Erm
Maybe the head is engaging" .

Need to know this answer!! Couldnt describe the pain the other day but you have perfectly. 37 weeks.

Rowboat · 09/12/2013 13:05

hmm if it's just engaging head then why we not felt it before?

tutu100 · 09/12/2013 13:09

I had this with ds2, my midwife told me it is just the position of the baby once they get down low (although ds2 was never completely engaged until I went into labour). I do remember it being agony and having to sit down very carefully! Your description of it feeling like the bay is going to fall out describes it well. I remember telling the midwife it felt like ds2 was trying to push his way out.

I hoped it was a sign of birth being iminent, but the bugger was 9 days late.

Oh tutu dont say that, was hoping it meant he night turn up on time or a few days early.
