Title says it all really, 28 weeks pregnant, had and still have traces of Mrsa in urine, now got group B strep and bulge down below which matches symptoms on the web of a cystocele. Beginning to get stressed about it all and wondered if anyone had any experience of any of these.

I had GBS. It was diagnosed by a swab done when my waters broke. It meant that I had to have IV a/b's whilst in labour - they ideally wanted to get two doses in, so that meant starting them before I was induced (due to prolonged rupture of membranes, not the GBS). I had four doses, so they were fairly certain DS2 would be OK. However, he inhaled meconium at the birth, and stopped breathing, so ended up going to special care in case it was the strep that had caused the breathing problems. He had to have swabs and a lumbar puncture and then IV a/b's until all the tests came back clear (takes between 2 and 5 days). However, I think if he'd had no problems at birth, he probably wouldn't have had all the tests / a/b's. He didn't have any infection, and came home after three days. Apparently as long as they know about the GBS and can get the IV a/b's into you before the birth, it doesn't cause any problems. It's only if they don't know about it that the baby can get ill.

Hope it all goes well for you.
