Pregnancy after vascectamy??

My husband had a vascectamy 6 months ago but my period is late. We are abroad so I can't get a testing kit till Tuesday. I'm so scared. (This would be #4 if I am pregnant).

I have been slack on protection a couple of times (we didn't do the sample testing thing done yet). I feel so foolish. Please tell me it will be alright.

As you haven't had samples done, there is no way of telling a) if the procedure was successful and b) if motile sperm have fully cleared.

About half the vasectomy failure rate follows the abandoning of other contraception before tests show 'all clear'.

Sorry, that won't have been what you wanted to hear. I hope you get the answer you want with the test. And if it is BFN, get those tests done so you know whether he is infertile.

I hate to say but we have a 22month old DD through the exact same scenario. And I'm 19 weeks pregnant with DC5 to boot.

Going to sound awful but I hope you gave a different outcome - this has not been good for my mental health at all.

Thank you so much for your replies. I'm feeling quite positive today. And even though it may be hard it's good to know that others have been through similar experiences. I guess you just have to deal with whatever comes your way.
