Under bump 'fat'?

This is a bit gross...I am 27 weeks pregnant with number 2, and was a size 14when i got pregnant, but underneath my bump there is a squidgy 'apron' of fat, i would really love to get rid of it, anyone got any tips? Am focusing on healthy eating etc as trying not to put on as much weight during this pregnancy, it kind of hangs down below my bump and is particularly unattractive! Wish i had a perfectly taut bump but would settle for just not having the hangy fat!

I had this, and was worried I've have an overhanging bit forever afterwards. 6 months after DC2 it's pretty much gone and I think it would go almost completely if I got back to my healthy weight.

I'm a size 14 to before I was pregnant and I'm 22 weeks I don't have much of a bump yet I just look even fatter than what I was I've gained about 6 pounds and trying not to gain much more (avoidable baby weight but I mean fat weight)

I think when my bump gets bigger I to will have that apron of fat.

It's nice to hear there are other size 14 ladies I'm feeling pretty low about the way I look

OP could I ask how much weight you have gained so far. Or have u managed to maintain your weight.

Do you have any tips on healthy eating I've just got over sickness and starting to eat normal again. Sorry for butting in on your post lol

I've got this too and I hate it. I have absolutely no tips for getting rid of it, this is DC2 and to be honest, I had it before I got pregnant with DC1. I'm 37+4 today and have lived in these since I started showing: www.mothercare.com/Blooming-Marvellous-Maternity-Support-Belt/LU3356,default,pd.html
It works really well and keeps the fat apron up .... so at least it's not obvious through clothes etc. I too have tried really hard not to put on too much weight with this pregnancy - about a stone so far but I see myself wearing one of these for many weeks to come! Hope that's helpful.

Hi oneslice, i also have pretty much always had it but is way more pronounced in pregnancy, have got a bump band which does hold I just feel disgusting! I have out on 2 stone so far but going to try and maintain this weight now rather than get heavier..it does make me feel better to know that other people also have it!

I feel your pain . . . I'm wondering what I can wear in delivery suite to keep the damn thing hidden . . . It's ugly and I feel like it's taken on a life of its own! Do check out those belts I linked too - much more supportive I find than a bump band. You're not alone and I'm sure the midwives have seen far worse!
