After trying lots if different remedies for heartburn and indigestion, I've finally found a cheap alternative to Gaviscon........love hearts!! They work do well and don't leave a horrible chalky taste in your mouth like some chewable tablets do. They contain sodium bicarbonate which is also in Gaviscon, the stuff that regulates acidity. Give it a try if you haven't already, so relieved they work perfectly and only 30p from Asda!!! Happy is not the word haha

Why didn't anyone tell me this before??!! Thanks op!

Can I share me cure for morning sickness? (Well it worked for me!) I vomited daily for 20 weeks during my 1st two pregnancies and felt nauseous the rest of the time but for this pregnancy I've stopped eating dairy and guess what? No sickness!

icklekid · 08/12/2013 06:26

I wish no dairy would work for me but I'm lactose intolerant so never able to eat any anyway craving cheese :-( will remember the love heart tip, any others to stop ms yesterday I could only keep ice lollies down despite being on anti sickness medication!

Ickle- this was how I discovered I was lactose intolerant! You can still enjoy dairy products if you take lactase enzymes with dairy containing foods. Grin

Just to point out you can get gaviscon on prescription so its free with your maternity exemption certificate, so you don't need a cheap alternative! Tastier alternative maybe... :)

weebigmamma · 08/12/2013 19:08

I am going try this too because Gaviscon, although amazing, tastes so revolting it makes me want to heave. Trouble is, I am also trying to eat well because I'm overweight.

Doctorbrownbear · 08/12/2013 20:23

Didn't work for me :(

mixi82 · 09/12/2013 10:35

Sorry it didn't work for you Doctor :(

Had no idea you could get Gaviscon free! Will have to get it prescribed as I too HATE the taste. Tried both aniseed and peppermint and I have to hold my nose to take a swig lol
