Been taking paracetamol/ibuprofen when possibly pg

Not quite sure how I managed it but I got m dates mixed up and thought period was due yesterday/today....just check calendar and was actually due last thurs/fri! Was going to take a test but no more left in the house!

Panicking slightly because I've been taking full dose of paracetamol & ibuprofen for the last 7 days with a sprained ankle and just read that ibuprofen can cause a mc...is this true or just a scare story?

Have to wait for dp to get home with a test due to being housebound at the moment so don't even know if there is a reason to panic!

It is true about ibuprofen, but you didn't know. Don't worry and don't panic. Paracetamol is fine during pregnancy.

I've been told to avoid all anti-inflammatories during pregnancy because of the risk they pose. As I said, you didn't know so don't worry about it, just don't take any more. I'm sure at your booking in appointment your midwife will reassure you- though that will usually be in a fair few weeks.

Try not to worry, if you are pregnant the placenta won't have formed yet (baby will be making do with a little yolk sac!) and I think it is the placenta and subsequent blood flow that is what ibuprofen and aspirin has the biggest affect on, so you should be fine.
Paracetamol is perfectly safe to take throughout pregnancy, so you're fine to keep taking it.
Hope your ankle heals up soon.

If it helps at all, half my pregnancy books are in German and there ibu is the only stuff recommended until the third trimester, so while I wouldn't continue taking it given NHS advise is different, I don't think you need to worry about it.

Paracetamol is safe to take, anyway.
