Still move around alot @ 35 weeks, no particular reason for asking just curious lol , i have been told the baby is on the large size, but its really weird when he has hiccups sometimes they feel really low and other times can actually see my belly move with them and they are high up i didn't think they would still be able to switch around at this stage.

TIA

well apparently, so my mate tells me, she feels v substaintial movements from her baby (also 35 weeks), and last week the baby was oplek (sp) and today the baby's definatly head down so I guess it's possible. I can't really help cos joey was head down all the way for my apts. althou when he moved sometime's he'd be kicking at my rib cage (i'm sure he thought it was a xylophone or something! lol) and then punch dead low so I thought he was trying to claw his way out. are u sure it's hiccups and not just him punching instead of kicking? (althou again I never felt joey's hiccups)

Oh hiccups are very distinctive - they feel just like your own hiccups, but milder and in the wrong place. Ds was a right old hiccuper from about 6/7m on, and even had an attack of hiccups within an hour of being born!

They can still move around a lot at 35w. My two were good sizes, ds was head down from very early but still managed to kick me and thump me all over; dd didn't settle head-down until quite late and you could see my belly rotate as she turned slow somersaults. Not very comfortable in the last few weeks! But brilliant to watch .

hi pucca - I am 33 + 3 and my baby is still moving loads like how you describe. But he is also head down. Although yesterday I knew his back was on the left side of my bump as it was sticking out loads and the kicks matched, then several hours later it was on the right side of my bump so he is still getting around in there!

PrettyCandles · 17/07/2006 14:24

I mean 6/7m pregnancy, not age.

pucca · 17/07/2006 14:25

It really weird, sometimes the hiccups almost feel like they are in my hip or < you know where> lol, and other times are right at top of bump, just weird to think they can still turn around there can't be much room left lol, its a shame lol.

Yes. DD wriggled around right to the end. not to the extent that the hiccups moved bottom to top though. Are you sure your baby's not farting repeatedly?

pucca · 17/07/2006 14:29

Pmsl @ SD, no think it defo hiccups.

at 37 weeks my baby still gets around. there is clearly not much space left but that doesnt seem to make any difference!! movements just get more uncomfortable and more noticeable. mine gets the hiccups and it feels like bubbles down below but i can see its back moving in time. apparently, what you feel and see has a lot to do with the thickness of your abdominal wall. if you have a fairly tight bump that isnt very fleshy you will feel and see much more. movement (whatever they are doing!!) is always a good sign.

My dd moved loads up till birth. Even the day before she came (my due date) I remember thinking " oh i'm ages off as apparently her movements will slow down when she is ready". Lol I had her 24 hours later..!! DD also suffered loads with hiccups and the shapes my tummy used to make were bizarre..!!

BTW dd was 9lb 4oz and on time..!

DollyP · 17/07/2006 19:53

DD moved constantly and vigorously, even through labour . Hasn't stopped moving since! I too thought babies were supposed to slow down as due date got nearer/ space got tighter, but not DD! Kicked the CTG off several times in labour, caused all manner of problems...

teabags · 17/07/2006 19:57

ditto DollyP!
My ds was v active during pregnancy and labour

I get hiccups which feel low down and you can see my belly move in time with them. This lo is engaged so not moving about much but I keep getting feet or knees really sticking out of my right side which hurts and makes your bump wonky.

I love watching it move about and ive also camcordered it.
