Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Had the most excruciating cramp in my right calf at about 5am and it is still bloody agony - I'm hobbling around like nobody's business Sad

Any tips for prevention or cure?

Tonic water is meant to help reduce these... The name of the important ingredient escapes me...

Quinine?

I have the same... randomly at the top of my legs... all of a sudden at 38.5 weeks... very odd! My GP did mention tonic water but said it was unproven... worth a try?!

I think potassium in bananas is meant to help.
It's agony isn't it?!

I think magnesium supplements can help with cramps...my DP gets them really badly when he's run down and takes magnesium to help.

I don't know if you can take this when PG though...

I had this in pregnancy tonic water definitely sorted. Half a glass before bed. Some other people mentioned bananas but never worked for me

Doing some stretching exercises used to solve it for me. When you go to bed lie on back with legs straight. One side at a time pull your toes up so you can feel your calf stretching. Do it 10 times then rotate your foot 5 times right then 5 times left. Then do other leg. If your really coordinated you can do both legs at same time. Itdid work wonders for me and if I forgot I'd guarantee to get cramp in the middle of the night. Good luck it's horrible to be woken in pain.
