5 weeks was too early to see anything, i've heard 6 is the absolute minimum.. i was advised to wait until after 8 weeks for a scan, as before that it's too soon to A) see anything of note B) to remove the miscarriage risk, which generally is still high until after the 8 week mark.

With my second, I had a cyst in my uterus, and a lot of pinching pains, I also had negative pregnancy tests... they only picked it up by blood test... they couldn't see a baby and were going to put a camera in to see if he was somewhere he shouldn't be... they did one last minute scan, and there he was, tucked behind the cyst, I was 8 weeks. bet your little one is playing hide and seek with you too

5 weeks is very early. I had an early scan for reassurance and the company I booked with said there is little point having one until at least 7 weeks as nothing can really be seen before then. I went when I was 7wks and 3days and there was still only just a little blob with a flicker. Please don't worry yourself x
