Whooping cough jab when ill?

I'm due to get my whooping cough jab tomorrow but I've had a cold since the weekend that is only just showing signs of improving. Is it ok to go ahead and get the jab? I'm not sure if there's a higher chance of a reaction if you're run down? It's my work Xmas lunch on Friday and as I've already paid 30 quid for it I don't want to miss out!

I was advised by my midwife to wait till I was over my cold to have mine. x

I had mine on Monday and the nurse asked me 3 times if I was feeling ok and no fever before she gave it to me. So I would assume they wouldn't give it to you if you weren't feeling well.

Yep they won't give it to you if you are ill. Call the surgery to rearrange it.

Yup, they ask if you feel generally well in yourself/ if you have a cold etc and won't give it to you if you are under the weather.

I rescheduled mine for that reason and had both my whooping cough and flu jab at the same time. I had absolutely zero side effects though, not even a sore arm and I was really worried about feeling rotten again!

Feel better soon. Thanks

Thanks, I rang the surgery and rescheduled to next week.
