I'm about 13 weeks (still waiting for dating scan). I've had a bit of stomach ache tonight and just went to the toilet and had fresh period type blood in my underwear. Is this normal? I didn't have this with my first pregnancy and everything about this pregnancy has been different so far and I'm really worried now. Will call midwife in the morning but could do with some reassurance please.

Hi basgetti, are there any clots and is the blood flowing or does it seem to have stopped now? Could anything have triggered it, i.e have you recently had sex? It might be worth ringing your EPU tonight instead of waiting. I had a fresh bleed at 14 weeks and they made me go straight to the ward for assessment x

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 02/12/2013 23:39

Im sure it is nothing, but better to be safe than sorry. Ring the EPU/midwife now, and see if you can get in there in the morning. Try and get some rest. xxx

basgetti · 02/12/2013 23:43

Hi thanks for your replies, no clots but like a light period. I strained myself a bit on Saturday night and felt like I'd pulled a stomach muscle, but been otherwise fine until tonight. I'll ring the EPU now, thanks again for the advice x

good luck. xx

How are you today?

basgetti · 04/12/2013 07:26

Sorry Tea, I didn't see your message yesterday. I'm not feeling too good, its like a proper period now with stomach cramps and I'm having to change pads regularly. I've got a scan this afternoon at the EPAU as that is the soonest they could fit me in. Not sure what to expect really.

I'm sorry to hear things have worsened - I really hope the scan brings some positive news for you and the wait for it doesn't drag on too long. Good luck x

Just read this I really hope everything is ok basgetti x

basgetti · 04/12/2013 17:46

Hi it wasn't good news, I had a missed miscarriage at about 8 and a half weeks. I've decided to manage it at home since I've already started bleeding and this was recommended as the best option. Feel a bit numb really. Thanks for your messages.

Oh poor you. Really sorry to hear this and hope you're taking it easy and feeling ok. Thanks

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 04/12/2013 17:53

I'm so sorry. Sad
Ive been there, it's totally shit. Take care of yourself and rest. There's a really supportive MC topic on here under Body and Soul in the topic list. It's worth a peek. xxxx

whereisthewitch · 04/12/2013 17:55

Hugs to you xxx

Andcake · 04/12/2013 17:59

So sorry to hear. A few years ago I had similar but at 11 weeks.
Just a word of warning I planned to manage it at home but on day 3 of bleeding I was in so much pain dp ended up having to call an ambulance - a night in hospital etc followed. Just in case can you make sure you have some one you can call on especially if you are looking after another dc.
So sorry again and hope it's not to bad

Writerwannabe83 · 04/12/2013 18:04

I'm very. Sorry to hear this - please take care of yourself and I hope you have a support system around you x [flower]

basgetti · 04/12/2013 18:13

Thanks all. Sorry to hear about your experience Andcake, I am a bit worried about what to expect. They said I can change my mind if I want to about how to manage things so I'll see how I go.

Tomkat79 · 04/12/2013 21:15

Oh basgetti I'm so sorry. MC is truly awful. I was never brave enough to go the natural way, choosing the surgical option instead. I hope you have lots of support in RL. All here for you on here too...as saggy said head over to the preg loss pages, they kept me sane. Xx
