Will anything ease my aching back?!

I'm 28 weeks pregnant and have suddenly developed terrible backache. I googled it, but it doesn't really fit with any of the types of backache described (ie it's too high for sciatica etc.) It's kind of the other side of my belly button if that makes sense and worse in the morning when I wake up. My arm often feels like it's just about to come out of the socket at the shoulder too! What can I do up make this less painful?!!

Some people swear by heat pad, especially for muscular pain. However ice packs work better for me (although I do have arthritis). I feel your pain!

Hi I was talking to my mum about when she was pregnant and she said she use to get that type of pain like the tip of her bump the doc said its the baby kicking ribs and it just feels like pain there, might not be that but could be that little bundle of joy have a good workout.

Excercise ball and a homedics shiatsu pillow.
I went from creeping old woman to upright in a matter of days.
The ball is also brill for opening up your pelvis and raising your coccyx.
Plus you can use it for excercise after baby arrives.
I was really sceptical of the ball even after the midwife recommended it but it worked.
