i went to my gp 2 weeks ago, 3 days after doing a clear blue digital which showed 2-3 weeks pregnant. gp thought at the time I was almost 6 weeks. going by gp's dates im 8wks & 2days now. she read my blood pressure and basically fobbed me off saying she would refer me to antrim area hospital & to take folic acid which I did from the day of the positive test. im just wondering if this is normal or how long it takes for hospital to contact me or whats supposed to happen next. I also took the flu just over a week ago, struggled through it with lots of fluids, sleep & the odd paracetamol. can anyone offer any advice as to whether this is usual practice for the gp or not? thanks

I think that is about right. The hospital contacts you about your booking scan. At least the royal did. Does your gp practice have community midwives? You will be meeting up with them soon too

thanks reeta30, do you know roughly how long you wait? are you just left to get on with it til 12wks? 12wks for me would be boxing day by gp dates, hoping I'd have my scan in time for Christmas?

You will usually hear from hospital about two wks before 12 week scan date. So you may not hear anything for a while yet. You will have no pregnancy appointments between going to GP and having the booking in at 10-12 wks.
