Post partum bleeding

I'm looking for some reassurance please.

I had DS almost 4 weeks ago now and had bleeding which tailed off to very light, almost diluted looking lochia by third week.

I have today started bleeding fresh blood that I'm needing to wear a panty liner again.

Is this normal? I've done a fair amount of walking in the last 48hrs but no more than usual tbh.

I have felt pretty rotten with achey joints the last 48hrs whether that's related or not I don't know?

Thanks

There seems to be a phenomenon when at very end of the lochia you get a small amount of fresh blood, which is the uterine lining beginning to return to normal after your hormones stabilise. It is usually minimal in amounts.

Feeling rotten and achey joints though sounds like potential signs of infection so get it checked out today. Newly delivered women are more prone to serious infections which can take root from the womb because the cervix isn't completely closed yet.

Thanks for posting, I shall attempt to see somebody today - I had an infection which was picked up in labour and received copious amounts of antibiotics. Perhaps it didnt quite rid me oof the infection.
