Early Baby ?

Hi, I am currently 33+3 with my first baby and my due date is 14th January 2014. At my midwife appointment yesterday the midwife said that the baby's head is fully engaged because it wasn't moving at all when she felt it. My bump has been measuring 3-4 weeks ahead throughout my pregnancy. Could this mean that the baby is going to come early? Does anyone have any experience of this?!
Starting to panick a little! Thanks.

When I had DS he was fully engaged by 32 weeks and arrived on his due date, don't think there's a correlation sorry!

Oh that's good, I'd prefer him to spend a little more time in there cooking! It was just when I asked the midwife the same question she just said 'not necessarily', but she wasn't very convincing!

No don't worry, there is no correlation AFAIK

Hi Op. According to my MW and consultant obstetrician early engagement of baby's head does not mean you will go into labour early. Apparently some baby's will engage as early as 30 weeks. Engagement occurs as a result of the expansion of your uterus. I am 35 weeks and I can't wait for DD to drop so I can at least breath a little easier because my lungs won't be as squashed up! Gin

My bump dropped at 31wks and I gave birth at 32wks, don't know what happened!

With DC1 I was fully engaged at 30 weeks & measured way above all the way through. They came at 40+5!

DS3 engaged at 34 weeks and was born at 40+2. DS4 never engaged.
