Who went and found it helpful. We have 2 classes booked but have heard mixed reviews about it all. I can imagine when your in the throes of labour you do your own thing anyway and there's lots of videos on u tube too. Who enjoyed it and who wished they didn't do it??

I did NCT classes which were really helpful. Went to the one at the hospital too, which was basically just a tour, but that helped settle my fears of the place (wanted a home birth which didn't happen on the day, so it was great that the ward was already familiar).

Breathing exercises are useful - the one I used most was golden thread (I think), which is a yoga breath - basically you take a breath in when the contraction starts and then try and breathe steadily out for as long as you can. Worked well for me.
