Eating as if it's going out of fashion...

Eating all some of the right stuff, then supplementing with lots and lots of cake and crisps (oink). Putting on really quite a fair whack for 20 weeks (not a clue what that relates to in pounds - not weighing). DC1 & 2 were similarly fed prenatally, and were born fine, but I would like to try to get back on the rails a wee bit at least with DC3 before I eat my husband by accident.

Any tips to stop being such a gutbucket? No excuses left as nausea is well gone, and I'm not feeling especially hungry, just piggy-wigging. All advice gratefully accepted.

No advice. I'm pigging at a alarming rate. I swore I wouldn't do it this time. Ho hum. Enjoying it while it lasts to be honest.

I ate when I felt like it in pregnancy. It wasn't often early on, very frequently (non-stop) in the middle and I ran out of room for food in the third trimester.

MrsSpencerReid · 28/11/2013 21:52

No idea, sorry, I'm in the same boat, I'd eat all day if the baby would let my stomach have the space Grin

Chelsealady · 28/11/2013 23:10

I find i only do it when im bored...36 weeks now and border than ever so have been eating like a gannet!

WhisperMen · 29/11/2013 11:01

I spent the second trimester scoffing anything I could get my hands on but now I'm 37 weeks I have gone off food entirely apart from chicken nuggets hash browns and spaghetti hoops Enjoy it, it's the one time in your life when you are allowed to eat lots and not worry Grin

No advice, just empathy.

This morning i had 2 (small) sausage rolls, a croissant, 1.5 bagels and a bowl of strawberries. OINK OINK! and i'm not even full.

Monday is a new leaf, i'm stopping this 3000 calories a day business. I'm not saying i'm going to diet per se, i'm just stopping with the double breakfasts and double dinners! I've gained a stone and i'm only 11 weeks!!! TRUE STORY!!!!!!!!!

oink

This makes me feel so much better! I've been feeling quite out of control with eating, but I'm trying to not worry about it as the more I fixate on not eating the worse I get, so thank you everyone for helping me feel slightly less crazed!

icklekid · 30/11/2013 04:17

I'm just jealous as can't keep anything down and so hardly eating :-(

CrispyFB · 30/11/2013 16:33

It's really annoying. I gain far too much according to guidelines. I know when I'm not pregnant I can follow a calorie controlled diet (My Fitness Pal) with no issues and eventually lose it all.. but when pregnant willpower flies out the window. Even though I know all about what calories/nutritional content of everything, I still eat like crap. I am sure it's a hormonal thing and I've resigned myself to another year of logging everything I eat and walking ten miles a day!

MrsSpencerReid · 30/11/2013 16:52

Ickle I'm 31w and have only just got rid of daily nausea, it's been one extreme to another!! Hope you feel better soon

puggywug81 · 03/12/2013 16:43

No advice here just empathy, I swear if I go more than an hour without scoffing something I feel sick!

talulahbelle · 03/12/2013 17:49

I just devoured a macdonalds and side of cheesy dippers. Still hungry. 6+3 here though, I'll take hunger over nausea any day.

TeaAndANatter · 03/12/2013 18:13

I'm definitely eating about a whole meal extra and an extra two cake type snacks a day. My maternity jeans are chaffing my thighs. Oink!

I'd eat my own thigh if that would help.

I was just like this from about 10 weeks until about 35 weeks, although it got slightly better at around 27 weeks. I ate and ate and ate - cheese, cake, bread, pasties, and piles and piles of fruit. I was back in my jeans a week after birth.

I'm now bf my 6 week old DS and eating for England again. It'll all be ok in the end!
