I have some beef and ale in the slow cooker at the moment in order to make a steak and ale pie tonight. I have just started worrying the the alcohol wont have cooked out. I have looked this up on the internet and it seems ok but i would like some reassurance please if anyone has any to give?! im in the first trimester of baby number 1 so being extra panicky!

The amount of alcohol left in one portion after a few hours in the slow cooker will be so tiny, don't worry, just enjoy.

If it's simmered for 2+ hours then almost all alcohol will be gone. After an hour it's about half gone iirc.
