11 weeks and bleeding

hi all

Just returned from the hospital. Had bleeding and went for ultrasound. I had a gestational sac measuring 34mm x 25 mm x 24 mm> yolk sac was not visible. Fetal pole measures 5.0mm and they could not find heartbeat.

They said the gestational sac is correct size but fetal pole is for a 6 week pregnancy. So i a had a missed miscarriage around that time. Just wanted to know if this is definitely a miscarriage or is there any chance the fetal size could catch up? So sad and upset at the moment. Dont know what to do. Feel like my life is over.

Lots of hugs.
Sorry dnt know the answer to your question. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be here soon. Didn't want this to go unanswered.
Have you asked the docs or your midwife?

Oh, I'm so,so sorry. I wish I could offer you some hope but if the sac is the right size for your dates but the fetal pole is 5 weeks behind then it really isn't good news. Have the hospital discussed your options with you? I've had 4 losses including 2 missed miscarriages in the past and it is heartbreaking but your life is far from over. The very fact that you managed to get pregnant is extremely positive and if you feel ready to try again in the not too distant future you have an excellent chance of having a successful future pregnancy.
If you'd like to talk to other people going through a similar experience have a look at the miscarriage board www.mumsnet.com/Talk/miscarriage
I'm sorry it's not better news. Take great care xxx

I'm sorry to read this hope - I think that based on what you have said you have miscarried, I'm really sorry. Have they offered you a follow-up appointment or anything? I hope you have someone with you for support x x

Oh you poor thing.
Have they suggested a D&C?
the exact same thing happened to my friend yesterday, she was 12+5. They booked her in today for a D&C.
I'm afraid if there's no heartbeat at 11weeeks tehn it's not a viable pregnancy. ahhhh it's such devastating news, i'm so sorry.
Your life isnt over though- this pregnancy just wasnt meant to be (lots of MMCs happen to chromosonally defective babies) but the next one will.
Hugs xx

Op I am so sorry. You should be able to see a heartbeat by about 6/7 weeks. The fetus is a recognisable baby form by 11 weeks. It does sound like you may have had a mmc. I mc earlier this year and its deverstating. Flowers

If and when you feel ready you may like to visit the following link. The ladies on there nderstand what you are going through because they too are either going through or have been through it. I found them really helpful and supportive
