So I am 37 weeks today and I want this baby out of me. Tell me all your old wives tales and ways to get this baby born!

I know that none of them will work, and if they do it's probably a complete coincidence, but least it will keep me occupied Grin

I went to visit my sister when she was in labour with her first and she was lying in the bath, moaning in pain and quite by surprise she screamed out to her partner: "This is all your fuking fault making me have a fuking quickie when you got home from work!!"

I didn't quite know what to do with myself Smile

WhisperMen · 28/11/2013 11:35

haha! I feel like I will be shouting that at my partner when I'm in labour. He knew I had thrown up my pill, or there was a chance I had anyway but he still decided to go ahead. "just a quick one wont get you pregnant Whisper, don't be silly" NOT LAUGHING NOW ARE WE DP! Grin

Watching this with interest. I'm 35 weeks but with crippling SPD so from next week I'll be starting the eviction process. I can take it no more. Although it's kind of my fault because I went on to early labour at 33 weeks and begged the baby to stay put.

Curry and pineapple are on the menu from next week. I'm dreading the sex part, my poor knackered pelvis can't take any more. I also can't walk so the long walks are out.

Writerwannabe83 · 28/11/2013 11:44

I should have specified - the quickie she was talking about had happened that day Grin He had come home from work and asked his 39 week pregnant wife for a quickie and then 3 hours later labour started Grin

WhisperMen · 28/11/2013 11:50

I got told that there will be no funny business this evening as DP is "too tired" he is all grumpy because I might have told him I just want his sperm to soften my cervix and other than that he is useless at the moment. I think he is sulking.

Grin Whisper!

Apparently reflexology is very good? And evening primrose oil capsules in your foof?

Apparently.

Writerwannabe83 · 28/11/2013 12:35

whisper - tell him if he is too tired to have sex then go and relieve himself in a cup and then you can make use of the turkey baster, lol Grin

It was his sperm that started all this off so it's only fair he provides sperm to finish it off too! Grin

You don't want to miss the regeneration on Christmas Day.
Tell your baby it WILL be there on your lap watching his/ her first episode of the best tv show ever.

WhisperMen · 28/11/2013 12:48

I will be pissed off if I miss the Christmas episode ancel . I am also probably not going to get to see the Hobbit either. Stupid baby

I did tell him it would only take a few minutes writer he doesn't seem interested. Apparently I have "hurt his feelings". He's such a baby.

Right- I am 41+1 I have been told I am in 'early labour' from 36 weeks onwards. (Yeah... well done HCPs!!)

I have tried-
EPO capsules orally and vaginally- nothing. Doesn't bother me doing that, so have continued.
Sex- nothing. Have SPD so only done it twice and cannot physically face it again.
Orgasms- nothing. Alone and with DH.
Nipple stimulation- nothing. Manually and with a breast pump.
Walking- nothing.
Spicy food- nothing. Have tried curries, mexican, eating raw chillies.
Bouncing on a birth ball- nothing.
Hip circles on a birth ball- brings on BH but that is it!!
Two stretch and sweeps- nothing. Had a show after the second, but that was it.
Relaxation (glass of wine, cuddling and hypnotherapy cd)- nothing.
Pineapple- nothing. Was quite tasty though, so didn't mind that either.
Chiropractic treatment on my pelvis to help it open- nothing.
Reflexology- nothing. Only DH did it from an internet guide, he is NOT a professional.

Hmmmmmm I wonder if there was anything else that I have tried?

Today I am mostly trying "lie in bed and eat custard creams" ....

PorkPieandPickle · 28/11/2013 13:51

Ooooh, lie in bed and eat custard creams sounds like fun!!

AFergie · 28/11/2013 14:09

I was so fed up when I was pregnant with my son. I started drinking the teas, and having the curries from 38 weeks but at 40 I started having sex twice a day and running up and down the stairs in my house and trying to push my waters out ( I know !!) and having power walks in the park.

Long story short my waters broke at 40+2, but since I had triggered it instead of it coming naturally, my contractions started so so slow and I ended up having a 40+ hour labour, and being induced on the drip which was not nice.

Im 36 weeks with my second and will not be doing that again! But here are my tips never the less !!! Good luck !!

ancelynthecraven · 28/11/2013 14:12

How difficult would it be to time the actual delivery of baby to your chest with the Tardis dematerialisation noise?
General question really.

WhisperMen · 28/11/2013 14:28

I could play the tardis sound on my phone when it's born ancel Not the same, but it might cheer me up.

Im watching this thread theres is no way im being pregnant until 42 weeks. SPD is killing me and im exhausted. Just asked DP if we can have a vindaloo tonight, (i normally eat a korma) he says no because I am only 35 + 3

WhisperMen · 28/11/2013 14:40

your DP is being very unreasonable. Punch him?

Odd coincidence - I was enjoying reading this - hilarious comments guys. Then I got some post through - the almond oil I had ordered as my midwife told me I should use it to prevent tearing. Anyway I google it a bit more, and there is this research done saying that women who use it on their stomachs (to prevent stretch marks) are more likely to have a preterm labour. No idea if it's true or not - but it might work if you use it lots? I'm going to give it a go at least :) - at 34 week I doubt it'll be effective enough to make an effect in the next 3 weeks, but maybe after that!

WhisperMen · 28/11/2013 15:58

arghhhh the little bastard bundle of joy is shoving its head into my pelvis so I cannot get comfy. I also have back ache.

I haven't had any stretch marks at all. not even moisturised either.
