I'm being kicked in the bum!

I'm 23 weeks pregnant and for the last week or so I have had the feeling that my little baby is kicking me in the bum! Must be something to do with my bowel but am just wondering whether anyone else has had this and if it's normal...?

I have had this through out the pregnancy. I have carried quite low and all my kicks have been in the bladder and bowels! I haven't had any in the ribs - so thankful for that. I have an upper anterior placenta so I guess baby likes to lie low Smile

Ah interesting! My placenta is anterior but low lying that's why I wondered if it was all ok. It feels like wind moving down but sudden jolts. How far are you redrobin?

Oh I have that! I feel like I being kicked in the bum / anus sometimes hehehe Shock Shock!!

Could be that your baby is currently breech (which is nothing to worry about at 23 weeks) and that's why you're getting kicks so low down. Mine was at that stage and I was getting kicked in the bum but I'm nearly 29 weeks now and he's turned the right way so that's stopped.

I get a lot of movement low down too, at my 20 week scan the sonographer said not to forget that there are punches as well as kicks and baby still moves around a lot so they can be both wherever you feel them.

Mine likes stomping on my inner cervix. Now that does feel weird!
I too have an anterior high placenta, but I have to say, I couldn't pinpoint its whereabouts, I get kicks and prods all over! I always thought anterior meant it you didn't feel kicking in that area!

I have a low lying anterior placenta and quite often get this! Not very comfortable and gets worse as the baby gets bigger & kicks harder! I find getting down on all fours and putting my elbows on the floor then doing a few hip circles encourages the baby to move & kick somewhere else. (Not that easy a manoeuvre to do if you're at work Grin)

I am 34 weeks and have had bowel kicked since 21 weeks and it was more frequent in the second trimester. Baby is engaged now so less kicks in the bladder as it's head down and feet up by ribs. I just can't feel any rib kicks as placenta cushions it all for me Smile
