I know this is a common problem but please help, I'm getting frustrated with not getting enough sleep. I'm only in the first trimester and after work I feel shattered so try to get a little snooze in. Usually wake up because I'm hungry. Then I get tired again by around 9 or 10pm but toss and turn all night. Then just when I get off to sleep, I have to get up to pee!! I should mention that I'm in the Forces and accommodation is shared here so it's a bit of a nightmare with younger girls running about and things but will be moving camp this weekend into a room of my own which will make things easier. Just feeling so incredibly frustrated with the tossing and turning, trying to get off to sleep. Please please help!!

Try cutting out the naps. I had to as well, and I still don't get a full night but it's better. Midwife assures me fatigue stops being so bad from 16 weeks. 19 today and still exhausted!

30 weeks and sorry to say it's not geting better! I have been off work for 3 weeks and seem to be napping during the day which in not sure if it's making me not as tired at night. By when I wasn't having naps during the day I went to bed at 10 and was up and 5 for work. Obviously still up during the night for toilet trips xxx

I have been so tempted to get night pads so I don't have to get upto wee haha!! But think I'd wake up if I had one haha so more dignified to just get my tired little arse up haha. I think I wasn't as bad in the 2nd trimester xxx

Hi

Congratulations Thanks

Sorry you're not getting much sleep. I was exhausted during the first trimester, I could and did once or twice sleep for more of the day than I was awake! But this totally messes up sleeping at night, unfortunately as difficult as it is, I agree with a previous comment that you need to try cutting out the nap Sad. It will get easier once you get used to not having one - you'll probably just go to sleep a bit earlier at night.

Waking up to go to the toilet unfortunately doesn't get much better, and the tossing and turning will probably stick around as you get bigger...I'm 39+5 today and all this week I've been up at least 3 times in the night Sad. But there was a good long bit during the second trimester/first bit of the third where I wasn't waking in the night if that's any consolation.

Also buy a big maternity pillow, I didn't big mistake and I seriously wish I had, I'm constantly battling throw pillows into a good position in bed and then when I want to turn over I have to move them all spend more time messing with pillows than sleeping now but so many people have told me how great/useful they are, I'll definitely be trying one next time around.

Oh and headphones, could you possibly sleep better with some quiet music on through headphones so you don't have to listen to the other people until you move to your own room?? My DH does it regularly and says it really helps dog keeps him awake
