breast feeding after pierced nipple

i was wondering if anyone had any experience of breast feeding after having a pierced nipple. i have, of course, taken said piercing out a few months back but i am not sure if i have caused any permanent damage. i know i should have thought of this before i got it done but hindsight is a wonderful thing...........

i always wondered about this. especially when i would see young girls who obviously hadnt had kids yet.....
ill be interested to know. logic tells me that the scar tissue would have damaged the ducts, but logic is not always correct

the hole still seems open (although i havent pushed anything through it) and i am concerned about squirting in three directions!!

I have been wondering this aswell, I had mine pierced about 4 years ago and took it out about a 18months ago but the hole is still there even though I havent put anything in since I took it out! I also have very bad scar tissue. I have heard that it is fine to bf with the piercing still in as long as the baby can get their mouth round it but Im really not sure, doesnt seem right.

Ive also had some discharge from my nipples (TMI sorry) and its been the same on both.

petrified - discharge???? how far pregnant are you?? i have had this too and am in week 37. i thought it was just colostrum as i was getting it from other nipple too (was never pierced). not sure though as this is first pregnancy and although we all know what to expect, what things actually look like is still a mystery........

I'm 29 1/2 not sure if thats what it is that was the easiest way to describe it I think it is colostrum but not sure as I might be to early to have that, really not sure its coming from both though! (only had one pierced)

sounds like you have what i have!! 1 ex-pireced nip and 2 leaky ones!! it would suggest to me that the leakiness is not exclusive to pierced nipples. i am seeing m/wife tommorow so i will ask and get back to you, watch this space!!

interestingly when i was bf I always got a spot of milk come out through my breast .. yes not the nipple .. but about an inch away on the fleshy bit of the breast

it was really weird .. luckily not enough to be noticeable to others

yes leakiness is just milk .. don't worry

i breastfed for a year after taking the pirecing out at 3 months pregnant... no problem at all except you leak a little more when your engorged from the holes... not much mind you
