Booking appointment at 12 weeks?

Should it normally be this late?

I'll actually be 12+1 at the time, and on the letter I received it didn't say anything about a scan at the same time. I'm a bit worried I won't have time for a scan as my appointment is the 14th of December.

I'm at a very busy southwest London hospital if that makes a different. Just wanted to hear about others experiences before I call them.

Thanks :)

call and ask them. they normally do scan n booking at the same time now...

Definitely chase it up. I didn't get mine until 14 weeks despite ringing every week to ask what was going on - because they'd made countless admin errors. Fortunately I already had an NT scan privately at the Fetal Medicine Centre (along with the Harmony test) which I was intending to do anyway so I didn't need my NHS scan. But most people do.

I am also at a busy SW London hospital. I had my first midwife check at around 10+3 (at the weekend). The scan appointment is in 10 days time but I got both of my appointment letters at the same time. The advice from my GP was that if I hadn't heard on my appointments by around 10 weeks I should follow up just to make sure I hadn't been lost on the system. Perhaps worth a call to your GP, just so you can arrange your diary if nothing else. Don't worry though I'm sure you'll be all scanned and sorted by Christmas :) good luck!

I had my booking in appointment at 12+1 with DS4.

I'm having second DC at St.George's. With both I had my booking in at 7 weeks and scan at 13. Letters from separate departments and came after GP referral so scan not connected to booking in IYSWIM.

Good luck!

Sorry - that didn't make much sense -
I meant had first DD at George's and will also be having my second there next month!

Scan and booking totally separate in my area too - though I was reassured that no matter when they get your booking-in data from the midwife, they'll still slot you in for the '12-week' scan. I was told the '12-week' scan can actually take place any time from 11 weeks to 14 weeks, and on here I read that the cut-off is 14+5, so I guess they've got a couple of weeks to fit you in after your booking-in.
