So today is my due date and still no baby! Been getting braxton hicks over the last few days and lost my mucus plug this morning. It's very exciting knowing I'll definitely have my baby in the next 2 weeks, anyone else due around now?

hey RT! i'm 40+1 today and already getting impatient! I had a sweep on Friday (which was pretty grim experience) and plug has been coming away since yesterday morning. luckily i'm feeling great and am sleeping OK but i just hope we don't have too much longer to wait! would rather not have to be induced (they gave me 6th Dec for induction).

this is my first baby (after miscarriage) so i've been quite nervous the whole way through. seems surreal to be so close to / at the finish line!!

Rtfairy · 24/11/2013 15:12

Me too, first baby after miscarriage. Can't quite believe I'm at this point. Am booked in for a sweep on Wednesday (friend has advised me to take 2 paracetamol beforehand) am also hoping to avoid induction.

i would definitely advice a paracetamol or 2! i bled quite a lot after it as well so bring a pad or 2 in case you do.

i think after the mc i've been a bot in denial the whole way through so although being prepared for the arrivel, only this last week have i started to think shiiiiiiiit this is actually going to happen!!! eek!

Rtfairy · 24/11/2013 19:58

I know what you mean, it still feels hard to believe that this will result in an actual baby. Really hoping things get going before my sweep on Wednesday

Any progress yet, Rt? Janie? Hope your babies don't keep you waiting too much longer.

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 25/11/2013 08:24

Still here!! but it is cold outside so I can't blame the wee imp for staying toasty inside! :)

NationMcKinley · 25/11/2013 08:27

Good luck Fairy! Smile

NationMcKinley · 25/11/2013 08:28

And good luck Janie! Smile very exciting for both of you

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 25/11/2013 08:43

Thank you :) I'm getting a little impatient and stompy feety! Only 2 days overdue but I'm usually very prompt! SmileSmile

Rtfairy · 25/11/2013 09:56

Still here too, was woken up twice in the night with strong period type cramps so hoping that something is starting and it will happen this week Smile

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 25/11/2013 10:08

Oooh rt that's promising SmileSmile

Rtfairy · 25/11/2013 10:21

I hope so Janie, although with every niggle I think this could be it then nothing happens. It would be lovely if they just arrived on their due dates! How are you feeling?

OP posts:
JanieLovesLuckySocks · 25/11/2013 11:21

I know what you mean, I was quite crampy after my sweep on Friday and totally believed something might happen soon but alas!

Not feeling as cranky today thank goodness, might take myself to the cinema just to get out if the house. Surely bring somewhere inconvenient might make baby think it's an appropriate time to come out!! Xx

Rtfairy · 25/11/2013 17:32

Ended up at the birthing centre today as my waters went earlier today. was concerned as they are pink but apparently that is normal. Going back for monitoring tomorrow and will be looking at induction if I don't go into labour naturally in the next 48 hours. How are you? Any news?

OP posts:
JanieLovesLuckySocks · 25/11/2013 18:33

oh wow RT things are really happening!! still no signs from me sadly... been scrubbing cupboard doors on my hands and knees this afternoon and it still isn't budging boohoo. time for the bouncy ball! hope things start naturally for you soon! but induction isn't the worst i hear. it's so exciting!! keep us posted :)

Rtfairy · 25/11/2013 20:32

I'm really hoping to avoid induction at all costs so I'm keeping active to try to bring labour on naturally. The midwife seemed confident that things will start naturally so fingers crossed. Hope things start moving along for you soon, are you booked in for another sweep before your induction date?

OP posts:
JanieLovesLuckySocks · 25/11/2013 20:39

good plan :) no mre sweeps for me (thank god - horrific experience for me!) they've booked me in for induction on 6th december but nothing before that. on the bouncey ball as we speak!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 26/11/2013 13:58

Hope you're doing ok today RT x

Mogz · 26/11/2013 15:42

How's everyone doing? Any babies yet?
I've got my 40w MW appointment on Monday but I'm so fed up already I'm sending baby an eviction notice! Unfortunately the little toe rag is taking no notice and making no signs of wanting to put in an appearance, I suppose I shall just have to be patient.

Rtfairy · 26/11/2013 17:43

I'm feeling a bit fed up today, been having contractions since late last night but they are very irregular and labour doesn't seem to be progessing naturally. I am back at the hospital tomorrow for an induction which I wanted to avoid Sad . Unable to sleep properly due to pains so feel like its going to be tough. Hope you're doing ok x

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 26/11/2013 20:02

Oh RT sorry it's dragging on without progress Hmm but the night is young and I've fit everything crossed for you.

Mogz I get the frustration. But the wee lovelies will come when they're ready!

Still nada from me booooo

Mogz · 26/11/2013 20:37

Try to get any rest you can Rt, keep up those energy levels for the last little bit before baby is here, not long now.
Janie hopefully yours will put in an appearance soon too!
Fingers crossed for easy sneezy births, eh!
I think I'm just fed up as I feel like I've been pregnant forever, during which I've had bugger all control over my body, looking forward to it all starting to return to normal with no more sickness, heartburn or liver problems.

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 27/11/2013 07:58

Had a bath with some drops of clary sage oil last night and also rubs done in my bump and still nothing! I think I'm in for the long haul!!

Fx something happens for us all soon xxx

Rtfairy · 27/11/2013 12:58
