Lucky me- I'm 8 weeks and my skin is a right old fucking state. Some of it's dry, some of it's spotty, and it's grey and insipid.

On one side of my face I have a beautiful combination of hard, boil like spots with no head and big, angry red ones full of evil puss. I will buy anything, I will do anything to cure this. Please give me your tips/products.

Aww poor you Sad

I'm 39 weeks now but suffer with eczema anyway and it's been really bad during pregnancy as I can't use my prescribed steroid cream Sad

Not sure about the spots - can you buy a facial wash specifically to help spots? Perhaps ask the pharmacy for advice?

The dryness - I use an intensive moisturiser called double base as it has no perfumes in it to make me itch. I get in on prescription so don't know if you can buy it over the counter but ask the pharmacy/gp.

Hard as it may be try to avoid wearing make up e.g. foundation/powder as it will clogg up your pores and make spots worse.

Hope it gets better soon x

i had the same for the first few months of pregnancy :( mainly around my chin and nose. i got some boots own tea tree and witch hazel facial wash and after about 12 weeks things calmed down. used it religiously morning and night. not sure if it cleared it up but i've been using it since and haven't been too spotty at all :) 40wks today.

oh that...and collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer has been my new best friend! and it's cheap as chips :)

think the wee baby takes a lot of your good nutrients at the beginning so could be a hormonal thing.

Oh no, it'll get better. I used simple face wash & moisturizer. I think the weather doesn't help. My forehead is so sore & dry that it bleeds when I scratch it. My beautician friend told me to keep up to moisturizing even the spots, it worked they eventually went.

You could be having a little girl...ah probably a myth. I have had acne all my life and it cleared while pregnant. A polish beautician said girls take the pretty from their mother..

I had a boy

Anyway, I feel for you.. I would recommend sudocreme.

Congrats on your pregnancy! X

Not heard that of myth before! I just found out I'm having a boy...

Paulas choice BHA is what I swear by when my skin is having multiple personality issues www.paulaschoice.co.uk/exfoliating-2-beta-hydroxy-acid-gel.html

It's a chemical exfoliant but never dried my skin out and helped with the cystic acne and texture issues. Comes in gel or lotion versions. Last for yonks.

Clinique anti blemish solutions is pretty good, if you pop to a clinique counter the will have a look at your skin and let you know which products would be best. Good luck!

I am 25weeks pg and my skin is still horrendous. The massive spots are slightly better,, but I have lots of scars from them and I have blotchy red spot rashes on my cheeks. I feel like pants, my skin has literally gone crazy since I became pg.
however... I have also had mega choc cravings and now I'm trying to be better with that I.e not binge on choc and sweets..my skin does look slightly better,, although still crap! So my only advice drink lots of water and try to eat good things to help!
Congrats on the pg also.

Nothing to add, OP, but loving your username Grin

Thanks all. Definitely going to order some of that serum and try the other tips. I know it's pathetic but it's getting me down a lot.

Thanks for the username compliment. Always nice to find another Mozsholic. It's like a secret society! GrinGrinGrin
