I tried to call my health authority to find out if there have been many incidences of it in my area but they couldn't tell me.
I am not sure whether to do it or not
(i didn't get swine flu when preg with my previous DC)

Mogz - those people who decline having it are not doing so due to the 'price of their arms hurting.' It is like Terilou87 said - the vaccine has only been given to pregnant women in the UK for a year or so and is different to the one that is given in America. Even on the vaccine's website it says it is NOT safe for pregnant women ( although obviously they can't test on pregnant women.) Therefore some people are worried about the effect on the unborn baby. There are quite a few threads on here that I have read and some people with stories similar to what catlinsurrey said about baby not moving after mother had it... And also some far worse stories about effect on baby which people believe is due to the vaccine. I think one of the issues is that the NHS just doesn't give any information on this and it may take years to see links.

I'm still deciding whether to have it or not ( I've also had whooping cough as small child so I do know how horrific it is) but just wanted to point out that it isn't just about the mother having a sore arm... But weighing up risks for baby. The 'combined' vaccine is also a factor for some.
