What was your NT measurement?

Just that really...!

I'm sat in paddington station waiting for a train and thinking about the scan I has yesterday (12 week scan) Smile

All was well and I am now starting to feel more excited about the pregnancy!

My NT measurement was 1.3mm which the sonographer said was totally fine... But I've read of people getting such different measurements... So just wondering what the current mumsnet average is!

They took blood too but I guess it will be a week or so before I get the blood results.

Tell me yours! Grin

I had my first two at 22 & 23. It wasn't the norm and everyone at antenatal classes/clinics/nursery etc was older than me.

I'm having my third (and last!) at 36 and it seems that that is far more 'normal' an age to have a baby. People are always surprised that I also have teenagers, though!

Wuxiapian · 23/11/2013 10:29

1.1 and 1: 55000

HandragsNGladbags · 23/11/2013 10:32

1.4 and risk 1 in 100,000! I didn't realise it went up that high. Am 35.

Interestingly on bloods alone when DD1 was born I was 1:350 and 31 then, DD2 was 1 in 7,000 ish I think.

Wuxiapian · 23/11/2013 10:32

1.1 and 1: 55000

womma · 23/11/2013 10:38

2.6mm and 1:125

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 23/11/2013 10:38

I didn't have a NT scan first time round (not offered) but combined test results came back at 1:7000

Second time round my NT scan showed a fold of 3mm and risk came back as 1:156. I wasn't worried. This is still low risk and ds was in a ridiculous position during the scan so measuring the fold was difficult. Rest of the scan fine, no markers. He's absolutely fine.

Hi Gilly

I had my 12 week scan on Monday and the NT was 1.5. They said they would call by the end of the week if the combined test showed high risk, and I haven't heard anything so hopefully that is good news (I'm 36 so bordering on the geriatric mother class! Smile ). Hope you also get good news.

I did lots of googling in the meantime though, which said:
Average NT is 2.2
87% are less than 2.5
99% are less than 3.5
But those percentages go down with maternal age, there are some graphs out there that show how it changes.
It is possible to be high risk with measurements of 1.5 and below if the bloods come back really bad, but this is pretty rare (I only found two cases)
Bloods can look worse than they should if you have had a bleed recently.

AnyCrunchyCarrotFucker · 24/11/2013 16:39

4.6 which gave me a 1:3 risk - but amino showed chromosomally normal, heart scan normal. He is now 2 1/2 and entirely normal. So there is always hope.

Tea1Sugar · 24/11/2013 17:21

1.6 and adjusted risk came back as 1:17000, I'm 26. With dd1 I think it was about 1:26000, three years ago.

PenguinsDontEatPancakes · 24/11/2013 17:57

Mine was 2.4mm this time. I still came out high risk though as my HCG was mental. Thankfully after the amnio all is fine. So I guess my risk now isn't 1:anything, it's zero (for the issues that they are testing for, obviously).

ChicaMomma · 02/12/2013 10:53

Had my nuchal measurement this morning. 0.47mm. This is great obviously but am i paranoid thinking it could be TOO small? is there no such thing? is it a case of 'the smaller the better?'' I asked the sonographer but her answer of ''No, it's perfectly fine'' was a bit 'meh'. God, some medics are so DRAB!!

crookietlc · 08/12/2013 22:38

snapple21 · 09/12/2013 10:53

Foxeym · 09/12/2013 11:10

I didn't have one with my first 2 as wasn't offered, this time was 1.9 combined with bloods risk was 1:19000 which was bloody brilliant beings I'm 42!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 09/12/2013 11:22

3.9 IIRC. Risk with bloods of 1:5.
CVS followed with a risk at that scan raised to 1:3.
DD due march has Downs.

MrsB2013 · 20/12/2013 15:59

Had my scan on Weds at 12+1 and it was 1.7

Waiting for the blood results now!

slightlyinsane · 20/12/2013 16:41

Both of mine are around 1.9, twin 1 wasn't playing fair but rough measurement done. I never thought to ask why but once they discovered I was having twins they said they wouldn't be taking bloods that day???? Not really fussed about the bloods as they can make things complicated for no reason.

WowserBowser · 20/12/2013 16:45

5.9 Sad

chestnutmare · 20/12/2013 17:32

Mine was 1.2mm and the risk came back after the blood tests as 1 in 4368

Mitchell2 · 20/12/2013 19:43

Was 12+6 and it was 2mm. Didnt do the bloods as had a harmony type test and it was 1:10000. Both private clinic and nhs didn't push for the bloods as the NT was ok.

Louisa0507 · 14/03/2022 14:13

Hello

I have had my results for the combined screening for Down’s syndrome. My NT was considered normal at 1.9mm baby measurement is 66.9 mm.

I have received my bloods results have come back at 1/150 which is bang on the threshold to have further tests. Would anyone have any stories similar to this and outcomes?
