I feel the same. Was mortified when had to see the doctor about thrush and didn't have enough time for some "gardening"!! I hope they've seen worse!!!

I have to admit, I have kept on top of it (waxing) because I am so paranoid in case I need a check up or internal etc.... I would nt want the doc, MW or whomever to get lost in the rain forrest which it would be if I didn't continue with the waxing

Pops forgot to mention I am 33+6 weeks...

I don't think I've seen my lady bits in months. I honestly don't think doctors and midwives mind if you aren't groomed down there. I did have a quick check for toilet paper before my internal last week.

I'm only 22weeks so thankfully have been able to manage this area of grooming with no problems so far. I make an effort to tidy it up every few days whilst in the bath or shower in the frame of mind that regular quick preening will be easier to handle than a big gardening session if I were to just leave it I passed comment to my husband the other day about how he will soon have to start shaving my legs on my behalf and he didn't seem too impressed.....I haven't discussed his role in bikini line management yet

I agree with Pennythedog not been able to see below the belly for some weeks now (38 weeks this week!) and as I don't normally wax I wasn't about to start - esp considering that the only action I'm getting down there will be from doctors or midwives. I honestly doubt you have anything they haven't seen before.

It was years ago - before the brazilian & hollywoods became so popular but a friend of mine used to work at an OBGYN and said they were actually more likely to gossip about ladies who came in completely shaven rather than ladies with a 70s style bush! I'm not worried!

I still remember having surprise surgery (emergency stitch) at 18 weeks with DC2 and aside from the obvious "will I lose my baby" thoughts, my next big worry was.. crap, I haven't shaved anything recently.. whatever will they think of my hairy legs for starters!

I was conscious for the whole hour or so operation too, and I'm sure they kept brushing against the stubble on my legs (not that I could tell as I had a spinal, but still!)

I bet they didn't give a toss at all and have probably seen a lot worse, but it gave me something to focus my worry on rather than losing my baby!! She was fine in the end, btw

Needless to say, smear tests don't hold nearly the same embarrassment factor any more! Having a team of several men all clustered round your unkempt lower half with several big floodlights and pointy tools for over an hour.. yeah. At least in labour you're distracted by imminent baby/pain/the instinct to tear all your clothes off. This was.. uh.. clinical. And awkward!

Ever since I've tried to keep things in a semblance of order as best I can!

I'm thinking that I'm just going to leave my garden alone until baby pops out. My partner doesn't seem to mind and I honestly don't mind being a little extra lazy! I'm almost certain that MW's and GP's really don't give two hoots about what it looks like down there, after all their main concern is you and your baby IMO

I'm pretty certain midwives and GPs etc don't care...but what about OHs??!! They may say they don't care...but we all know that loads of hair just isn't pretty. This pregnancy, I'm determined to keep looking hot all the way through to delivery and beyond! I will NOT be a gross fat pregnant hairy person! There's a place called ministry of wax (might only be branches in London, not sure though). Its a bit expensive (£50 for brazilian) but it's such a good place and they do waxes for pregnant women all the time. (It barely hurts as well, I think its the type of wax they use or something).

Less of a garden, more of a forest and if anyone comes near me with wax they should make peace with their knee caps.

I did consider waxing, but I don't think I could! Id probably end up being charged double!

Im on my 7 th pregnancy & only had one internal during my 3rd pregnancy. With my 4th no examination during pregnancy or labour. With dc5, 1 internal because I asked mw to examine me as I couldn't work out how far I was in labour.

My lady garden is so overgrown it is like an invasion of the triffids.

Not bothered now. 36 weeks and really couldn't care less.

Last did a short back and sides about 2 months ago and that was only because when I had a wee I needed a blowdry after rather than a wipe.

Might have another go with dps hair trimmer one day next week just to help things stay clean post partum.

But legs will have to stay hairy. Can't bend down far enough to do below my knees lol.

Oh Lord! I don't even look at my legs! Last time I dealt with my side burns in order to go swimming on holiday, I ended up with infected razor rash!

I kept on top of mine with my electric shaver. it was a godsend. midwife had to ask to look at my bikini line before going down for an emergency c section and she was impressed as I didn't need to be shaved haha

At 37+4 weeks I can't see a thing down there and have all but given up, last time I did attempt to tidy things up with a razor it was SO itchy when it grew back I nearly drew blood scratching (never seemed that itchy before pregnancy) :S I have thought about waxing just around the edges but dunno if that would grow back just as itchy!

I'm 33 weeks and haven't seen my downstairs for a very long time. I've been shaving without looking and it seems to be working well so far! OH has offered to do it for me but I have no idea how that would even work. Not keen on laying in the bath, legs akimbo, whilst he hacks at my personals.

Sprite I have waxed all the way through and it hasn't itched at all. Plus bonus of waxing is it takes ages to grow back. For me, regrowths takes 3/4 weeks.

Writer the thought of someone wading through my tangle mass of forrest scares me more than the thought of childbirth. . Plus I am having a CS so don't want to be shaved because the tight if thy re growth from shaving following a CS doesn't sound good to me....
